The British Columbia Aboriginal Land Managers (BCALM) and Treaty & Aboriginal Land Stewards Association of Alberta (TALSAA) in partnership with Shared Value Solutions are hosting an online Data Sovereignty workshop series on March 23 and 31,2023.

This workshop is FREE and open to all First Nations in British Columbia and Alberta.

The online workshop series will provide a unique opportunity for engagement, networking and learning among members of the BCALM and TALSAA memberships as well as non-members. The goal of the workshops is to create meaningful dialogue on data sovereignty and how best to use these tools in the context of Indigenous land management.

Indigenous Data Sovereignty in Action Part 2: Building Geospatial Capacity for Land Managers

This full-day workshop is part 2 of the Applied Approaches for Geospatial Data Governance and Management series. The workshop will provide land managers with practical tools and training to strengthen their geospatial capacity. Participants will be introduced on approaches to collect, analyze, visualize, and manage geospatial data for Indigenous Knowledge and Land Use Studies.
